Pictured above is Coach Joe with his wife, Bernice Gaither, on the day of the opening ceremony for the Charles W. Day Technical Education Center on April 12, 2024. The Sports Medicine Wing of the Center was named in his honor. It’s a fitting tribute to Joe’s commitment to the youth of the Roanoke Valley through sports and education.
